The purpose of this ministry is to Impact the World for the Cause of Christ! We are able to do this through a "TriCord" ministry.
TriCord Enterprises
TriCord Enterprises is composed of 3 different "cords", if you will. The name comes from Ecclesiastes 4:12 which states, "Though one may be overpowered, two can defend themselves. A cord of three strands is not quickly broken." TriCord was born out of a God-given vision to transform the world's mission model for sharing the Gospel of Christ. Of course, that is a pretty God-sized vision! TriCord is comprised of 3 different areas all contributing to a self-sustaining mission with one sole purpose: to share the saving knowledge of Christ with the world.
Here is how it works:
The "NGO"
Or "non-governmental organization". This facet of the organization will raise and support fully: church planters, pastors, missionaries, and the like with seminary degrees to work in conjunction with existing mission organizations world-wide to provide aid, finances, personnel, and other much needed resources to help keep these organizations effective for kingdom growth. This area of the ministry is planned to begin in January 2014. Funds generated prior to this date will be donated to Amazon Valley Academy while they are rebuilding the school, student body, and overall mission of the organization. AVA is an evangelical Christian school located right outside of Belem, Brazil. AVA serves as a school for missionary families, base for independent missionaries, outreach to the city through English worship services, low-budget English classes and many other things as well.
International English Speaking Church
This will be the first and only English speaking church plant in Belem, Brazil. As the economy of Brazil continues to grow, so will the need for an international English speaking church. The church will be associated with the Southern Baptist, although no official relationship has been established.
Global English
Global English is the first English education facility in Belem to provide a 100% native-English speaking faculty of teachers. The purpose of the English school is to provide English education from a Christian perspective to professionals within the city. Here is the cool part, 50% of the profits go straight to the NGO! From there, the finances fund the mission organization with no need for outside financial support. 10% goes directly to the international English speaking church (rest of the budget is raised through tithing). This will be critical especially in the church's planting stage. The remaining 40% goes back into the English school to help open new schools. As new schools are opened, so will the opportunities to support and start new evangelical mission efforts all over the world.
We would like to challenge and encourage you to pray for the ministry opportunities we have here in Brazil to serve the Kingdom of God. Ministry at home is hard, but when you add the "foreign factor" to the mix, it becomes even harder. Prayer is certainly the key to an effective ministry anywhere in the world!
